Pozsar's Gymnastics recreational classes are available for girls and boys, starting with the Kinder Gym for ages 2 – 4, and then multiple level recreational classes for gymnasts above age four. We emphasize the development of an all-around gymnast.

Kinder Gym

Pozsar's Gymnastics Kinder Gym classes are for boys and girls, ages 2-4. The curriculum is firmly based on developing the whole child: physically, mentally and socially. Our program emphasizes raising the child's self confidence through gymnastics movement and class interaction.

A child's success in this program is achieved when both the parent and the instructor can positively reinforce and acknowledge every step of progress. The Kinder Gym program has been carefully designed so that skills, activities and expectation are age appropriate, safe and developmentally correct.

Three- and four-year-olds are taught fundamental movement, basic rhythm and gymnastics skills. Skills are taught in a progressive and positive manner to encourage the independent achievement potential of each child.

We strive for a ratio of six students to one instructor for each structured, 45-minute class.

Girls

Our girls program focuses on developing strength, flexibility and the artistic line. Gymnasts train tumbling, components of ballet and use all four Olympic events: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. There are three levels of recreational classes.

Level 1 : Our introductory class to the basics of gymnastics, this is for gymnasts with little or no gymnastics experience. It combines all four events in a fun and exciting way.

Level 2: The intermediate level of basics of gymnastics, this class is designed to focus on strength and flexibility, and the critical basics elements to prepare gymnasts for the next level.

Level 3 : The most advanced recreational class, it focuses on perfecting basics and learning more challenging skills. The goal of this class is to prepare the gymnasts for competition in Level 4 .

Boys

For the boys recreational program, we put much emphasis on basic tumbling initially, and then follow with instruction on all Olympic events: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vaulting, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar. The boys program also includes three levels of classes.

Level 1: The beginning class for boys with little or no experience, it is designed to strongly focus on gym safety, terminology, and body positions.

Level 2-3: This class focuses on basic skills in gymnastics and begins to teach gymnasts about the sport's teminology and body positions. At this level, we also work on building discipline and body awareness.

Cheer

The cheerleading skills has made a huge shift toward gymnastics, and our experienced staff is your perfect choice for learning basic to advanced cheerleading techniques and skills. We stress building up strength and flexibility, while teaching tumbling skills appropriate for the level of the cheerleader and his/her goals. Our coaches also help with stunts and train safe spotting techniques.

Teen & Adult

The teen and adult tumbling class, available to students ages 15 and above, is designed to help beginners or previous gymnasts or cheerleaders with their tumbling. In this class, tumblers move at their own pace. Beginners that have no to little experience with gymnasts, cheerleading, or dance will be introduced to stretches, drills, and basic tumbling. Previous gymnasts can focus on flexibility, tumbling, and keeping in shape. Basic tumbling is stressed to prevent injuries when learning more advanced skills.
